LRPD still investigating the death of a LRSD student in January 2025

Jamiah Greene - Her death in January is still under investigation by LRPD

On January 16, 2025 we received several messages about the death of a 13 year old female. According to the messages, she was a student at Little Rock School District's Dr. Marion G. Lacey K-8 Academy.

We searched on Facebook and found several posts about the incident. We sent LRPD Chief Heath Helton a text message about the incident. Helton stated he was looking into the matter and he had detectives working on it.

Our post about the incident went viral.

LRSD went into damage control mode and attempted to discredit the information we shared on social media. The sketchy LRSD superintendent told news media that much misinformation is being shared about what occurred and LRPD wanted to provide clarity, but they couldn't discuss the matter due to student privacy regulations.

What happened was that she was in the school gym for cheer practice and a male student attacked her. According to an LRSD teacher that reached out to us, no school staff was present when the incident occurred and she did have a medical condition, asthma and heart condition, and that the attack knocked her out or triggered an event connected to her medical issue.

Another parent posted this.

LRSD set up a meeting at the school to discuss the incident, but did not say much due to that student privacy regulation.

The principal of the school, Don Porter, continued the narrative that false information was being shared (the attack on the student).

If the student just had an asthma attack and there was no attack on her by another student, why would law enforcement investigate the matter? And if it was a natural death why has that information been released?

If an autopsy was conducted by the State Medical Examiner, the results would be known by this time. And according to the Pulaski County Coroner's Office, her body did in fact go to the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Since February, we have attempted to get records from LRPD concerning the death. The most recent attempt was yesterday. LRPD advised us that they cannot provide any records at this time, except for the LRPD Incident Report, due to an open investigation.

LRPD provided us with a copy of their incident report back in February.

According to our LRPD sources, the process is that once they have completed their investigation, their file is submitted to the prosecuting attorney for review.

If LRPD has completed their investigation, they cannot withhold those records.

If the prosecuting attorney has the case under review, they can claim an open investigation exemption, but LRPD cannot.

The fact that LRPD is refusing to release records indicated that they found probable  cause to file charges against her attacker. Due to circumstances, the prosecuting attorney will decide if any charges will be filed.

Little Rock had 10 documented homicides in January 2025 breaking records held since 1990.

An 11th homicide occurring in January 2025 would break records held since

We pointed this out in this story in February.

https://www.smr.snarkymedia.com/2025/02/10-homicides-in-january-in-little-rock.html

The Scott Administration and it's LRPD are guilty of using skewed statistics in false messaging saying crime is on a decline in the safe city of Little Rock.

Recently the feckless mayor issued statements about lower crime and the following week asked city directors to adopt a stricter curfew for juveniles after two weekends of criminal activities perpetrated by juveniles in the downtown and River Market area.

Each killing of human being in the city of Little Rock, even by a cop, points to how dangerous the city really is.

Telling lies, cooking the books on crime numbers, and gaslighting is what the MAGA operative Scott Administration does. Total bamboozlement.

***UPDATE 06/03/26***

For almost a year,  have been asking LRPD to provide a copy of the criminal file they sent to the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney regarding this homicide.

They claim the records are exempt from disclosure as the investigation is on-going because the Prosecuting Attorney has not made a decision about criminal charges being filed.

The most recent denial had a new twist, a slip-up if you will, LRPD said they could not disclose the file due to an on-going investigation and child maltreatment (A.C.A. 12-18-104).

A.C.A. § 12-18-104 refers to the confidentiality provisions within the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Act. It mandates that all data, records, reports, and documents compiled during a child maltreatment investigation are strictly confidential.

Did LRPD find that the LRSD teacher that failed to supervise the students was negligent and hence the child maltreatment finding?

Chck back for updates.

Arkansas State Police Troopers fired for illicit sexual relationship

Two Arkansas State Police Troopers were fired on April 5, 2024 after administrative investigations were conducted into accusations that they were romantically involved. Sgt. Mark Austin Blackerby (38 and married) of Scott and Trooper Jessica Diane McCord (30 and single) of Conway during their interviews with the State Police Office of Professional Standards ("OPS") in January 2024, were dishonest about the affair according to records provided to us by the ASP. Blackerby and his wife Cassie - a Jacksonville cop Initially, the investigation focused on Blackerby and both Blackerby and McCord denied a sexual relationship even though ASP vehicle tracking systems showed their vehicles parked at secluded locations for hours at at time and his vehicle at her home in Conway multiple times when he was on the clock. Blackerby admitted that he also disabled the tracking devices in his vehicle to try and hide his movements and their hookups.  Blackerby told investigators that he is a ...

Fired Dover City Marshal Nathan Jones Accused of Exploiting Dying Man to Take Control of His Estate

A video of a part-time Dover, AR city marshal threatening a local business that went viral on social media, resulted in his termination of employment on October 1st.   Here's the video. Apparently Jones was the subject of rumors in the town. Rumors about meth pipes and the 479 Smoke Shop.   According to records obtained from the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards & Training ("CLEST"), Jones previously worked part-time for the Dover Marshal's Office from October 26, 2007 through January 2, 2009.   Jones was also elected in 2023 as the Martin Township Constable and held that position under he lost to Ricky "Perch" Parks in 2025.   Don't worry about Jones losing his part-time job. As his campaign literature detailed, he owns a couple of businesses in area. During our investigation of Jones for this story, we found that he had been accused of exploiting Daniel L. Koester, 64 years old, who had cancer and had been in hospice after sufferin...

LRSD investigation file of Kendahl Davenport's entanglement with student leaves more questions than answers

An "unprofessional" relationship between a Parkview student, Justin Lanier and a teacher Kendahl Davenport was the talk of the town this week  ________ We were contacted by a LRSD employee/whistleblower over the weekend and broke this story on April 13, 2026 at 7:43 a.m. Other media outlets saw our post and scrambled to catch up. Our post about this on social media and other news outlet regurgitating it sent LRSD into a tailspin and the superintendent issued a statement. LRSD attempted to spin the story with little success. We submitted AFOIA requests to LRSD for copies of personnel files and records regarding applicants for the position that Davenport was hired to fill. Other news outlets continued to post stories. And they specifically referenced our April 13th social media post that broke the story and indicated that it going viral was problematic for the school district. Unrelenting pressure on LRSD from news media and citizens forced the superintendent to issue another s...
