The only surprise for us was not seeing interim LRPD chief Michael Moore on the list . As we expected. former LRPD assistant chief Crystal Young-Haskins was brought in after all of the other finalists were interviewed. In 2022, after disgraced LRPD chief Keith Humphrey resigned in May 2022 during a criminal and internal investigation for a New Years Eve shooting incident, Young-Haskins was named the interim police chief. She quit a month later to take a position with the Tacoma, WA police department. Young-Haskins has had a tumultuous time in Tacoma.
