Little Rock Mayor's wedding announcement leads to a discovery of another legal blunder of Antwan Phillips

The feckless Little Rock mayor made this post of Facebook yesterday.

So this morning we went to the County Clerk's website and grabbed a copy of his marriage license application.

We immediately noticed that both Scott and his bride to be listed the same residence address - 8101 Kanis Oaks Drive. Scott's residence on his voter records is on Edwina Drive in Southwest Little Rock.

Scott's bride-to-be is registered to vote in Florida. More about her later on in the story.

So we Googled that address.

According to records on file with Pulaski County, the property is owned by DRS Family Trust.

You might wonder who is DRS Family Trust. Well dear readers, it's the mayor.

The trust uses the middle initials of the mayor ("D" for Derrick) and his future spouse ("R" for Renee). the "S" is for Scott.

How did we come to that conclusion? Well dear readers, it's from the mortgage the feckless mayor took out on his new home.

And the feckless mayor also filed a Beneficiary Deed for his new home, drawn up by his fellow Little Rock City Board of Directors friend, inept attorney Atwan Phillips, or so he though he did.

We noticed that the legal description on the Beneficiary Deed did not match the one on the deed and mortgage for the mayor's new or old home. It was for property located in Otter Creek.

We did some research and located the address for that property.

The original plat map for that development shows that it is located on Bear Trail Loop.

At some time, the name of the street was changed from Bear Creek Trail to Eagle Nest Court.

And 48 Eagles Nest Court is owned by Gerald Russell, Jr. and county records do not reflect a transfer of that property from Russell to Scott.

We called the Pulaski County Assessor's office and they told us that the Beneficiary Deed was invalid due to Scott not holding title to the property.

If you are a sharp reader you will know what we know about Russell.

In 2008, he sold his home on Edwina Drive to Scott and he then purchased a new home in Otter Creek on Eagle Nest Court.

Our next step was to call the Wright, Lindsey & Jennings law firm as they prepared the Beneficiary Deed for Scott.

We identified ourselves to the phone answerer at the law firm and told them the issued about the deed. She asked us the name of the attorney that was on the deed. We told her there wasn't one listed. We gave her the name of the notary, Jamie Montgomery. She told us that Montgomery was Antwan Phillips assistant and put us through to her.

We identified ourselves to Montgomery and told her about the faulty and invalid beneficiary deed. She placed us on hold for several minutes and when she came back on the line she told us she could not talk about the deed with us and hung up. Not even a thank you for pointing out their colossal error so they could correct it.

Apparently Phillips or Montgomery somehow royally screwed up and used the totally incorrect legal description. How they managed to do that would be interesting to find out.

It's not the first time we have exposed a legal faux pas made by shyster Phillips.

Back in 2021 we found that he flagrantly violated Arkansas laws and ran an illegal campaign organization in his initial run for the Little Rock City Board of Directors.

We wonder how many other mistakes Phillips has made and how many more will it take for the law firm to get rid of him.

As we pointed out the mayor's fiancée  is moving to the safe city of Little Rock from Florida. She grew up in Arkansas and left to go to college at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

From 2010 through 2015 she was a cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins.

The only other information about her being back in Little Rock has her connected to her mother's home in the Twin Lakes addition.

Her parents divorced in 1987 when she was around 2 years old.

Her father died in 2021.

There is little information available about how long they have been a couple.

We found this photo of them from October 2022...

and this one from a fundraiser for the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts in May of this year.

Arkansas State Police Troopers fired for illicit sexual relationship

Two Arkansas State Police Troopers were fired on April 5, 2024 after administrative investigations were conducted into accusations that they were romantically involved. Sgt. Mark Austin Blackerby (38 and married) of Scott and Trooper Jessica Diane McCord (30 and single) of Conway during their interviews with the State Police Office of Professional Standards ("OPS") in January 2024, were dishonest about the affair according to records provided to us by the ASP. Blackerby and his wife Cassie - a Jacksonville cop Initially, the investigation focused on Blackerby and both Blackerby and McCord denied a sexual relationship even though ASP vehicle tracking systems showed their vehicles parked at secluded locations for hours at at time and his vehicle at her home in Conway multiple times when he was on the clock. Blackerby admitted that he also disabled the tracking devices in his vehicle to try and hide his movements and their hookups.  Blackerby told investigators that he is a ...

Fired Dover City Marshal Nathan Jones Accused of Exploiting Dying Man to Take Control of His Estate

A video of a part-time Dover, AR city marshal threatening a local business that went viral on social media, resulted in his termination of employment on October 1st.   Here's the video. Apparently Jones was the subject of rumors in the town. Rumors about meth pipes and the 479 Smoke Shop.   According to records obtained from the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards & Training ("CLEST"), Jones previously worked part-time for the Dover Marshal's Office from October 26, 2007 through January 2, 2009.   Jones was also elected in 2023 as the Martin Township Constable and held that position under he lost to Ricky "Perch" Parks in 2025.   Don't worry about Jones losing his part-time job. As his campaign literature detailed, he owns a couple of businesses in area. During our investigation of Jones for this story, we found that he had been accused of exploiting Daniel L. Koester, 64 years old, who had cancer and had been in hospice after sufferin...

LRSD investigation file of Kendahl Davenport's entanglement with student leaves more questions than answers

An "unprofessional" relationship between a Parkview student, Justin Lanier and a teacher Kendahl Davenport was the talk of the town this week  ________ We were contacted by a LRSD employee/whistleblower over the weekend and broke this story on April 13, 2026 at 7:43 a.m. Other media outlets saw our post and scrambled to catch up. Our post about this on social media and other news outlet regurgitating it sent LRSD into a tailspin and the superintendent issued a statement. LRSD attempted to spin the story with little success. We submitted AFOIA requests to LRSD for copies of personnel files and records regarding applicants for the position that Davenport was hired to fill. Other news outlets continued to post stories. And they specifically referenced our April 13th social media post that broke the story and indicated that it going viral was problematic for the school district. Unrelenting pressure on LRSD from news media and citizens forced the superintendent to issue another s...
