10 homicides in January in Little Rock breaks a record from 1990. Both mayor and police chief tried to hide it
When the feckless Little Rock Mayor and his police chief held a press conference on January 31st, LRPD Chief Health Helton made reference to four homicides having occurred in the last week.
Helton and the mayor knew that was a lie, in that five had actually occurred.
We knew that was a lie and had already made you aware of that.
The mayor and LRPD knew we had knowledge of an unreported homicide when we sent the a FOI request a day before their press conference.
LRPD responded and said they had no such report.
We knew that was a lie because members of his family had reached out to us after LRPD Homicide detective Irving Jackman had contacted them about the homicide and interviewed them on or about January 29th.
Jackman went to high school with the feckless mayor and was one of his first bodyguards/chauffeurs.
The mayor has repeatedly stated that he is contacted by the police chief each and every time a homicide occurs in the safe city of Little Rock. We have no reason to not think he would have received a call from Helton on January 24th. At that time it would have been the 6th homicide in the city.

You might be asking why would they not report that Burnett's bullet ridden body had been found dumped in a ditch near the Clinton International Airport?
Because in doing so at their press conference, the news would be that violent crime in the safe city of Little Rock was at an all time high, and breaking records.
Nine homicides is what the Scott Administration claimed to have occurred in the first month of the year, matching homicides that occured in January 2019.
But had they accurately and truthfully reported that ten homicides had occured, that would have broken a record set back in 1990 during the Bangin' in Little Rock days.
The Scott Administration has been taken to court over Freedom of Information Act violation more times that any other one in the entire history of the city.
We have had to take him to court and have a judge order him and/or his police department to release public records over half a dozen times.
The residents of the city are entitled to an honest and truthful city government.
We don't have that and won't as long as Frank Scott, Jr. is in office.
