When I was in junior high, I had a teacher who's husband was a Texas Ranger. One day while in her class, we noticed that she was looking at a rough looking man in Hell's Angel looking biker attire in the parking lot outside our classroom.
She rushed out of the classroom and ran up to the man and hugged and kissed him. My classmates and I were startled and wondered what was going on.
Our teacher and that man came back into the classroom and she introduced us to her Texas Ranger husband that had been on an undercover assignment for the last several months. She had not talked with him or seen him while he was on assigment as an undercover cop.
The thirty-six or so undercover cops at LRPD go home each night in a city issued ride to their homes and families mostly outside the safe city of Little Rock. They met other LRPD cops, ones in uniforms, for lunch at area restaurants, usually ones that give cops free or discounted meals.
The same is true for LRPD cop Mark Allen Ison, who became one of LRPD's undercover cops in late 2017.
We know that because his last traffic case was in 2018 (from a 2017 incident).
Ison was one of the undercover cops that conducted a no-knock raid on the apartment of Roderick Talley in August of 2017.
Ison was named as a Defendant in a federal lawsuit Talley filed.
Ison's credibilty was called into question by a writer from the Washington Post in a published article.
This is the video that the city of Little Rock did not want the reporter to mention in his story. Ison was featured in a news report in 2016 when he was a uniformed patrolman in SWLR.
Ison showed up in Cammack Village back in 2020 when the Cammack Village police chief and one of his cops were harassing a man about moving a traffic cone.
A scuffle ensued and the cop tased
himself and the Cammack Village police chief got an ass whooping. You
can watch full videos of that incident by clicking here and here.
Dozens of LRPD cops rushed to help out. Ison was the only undercover cop that responded. He was probably having a burger at Buffalo Grill with some LRPD cop buddies when it all went down.
It's also hard to be an undercover cop with you are a LRFPO board member and your name is on their website and they out you as an undercover cop (SID) in their membership roster.

Fun facts about Ison.
▮ Ison's dad had a black eye in his obituary photo. Might be a family tradition.
▮ Ison once lived in Jacksonville, AR.
▮ Ison uses a revocable living trust to try and hide ownership of his home in Sherwood that he and his wife Amber purchased in 2018 after she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and went to work at UAMS in their Department of Imaging and Radiation Sciences. That trust uses a P.O. Box in Little Rock. Wonder what else he uses that P.O. Box for?
