LRSD quicky reacts to Snarky Media's exposure of a convicted sexual offender at Southwest High School

On December 12th, we received an email about Simon Harris, a volunteer coach on the girls softball team at Little Rock School District Southwest High.

The tipster provided information that Harris was a convicted sex offender.

We verified that information and reached out to Southwest High and LRSD. They acted like they were not concerned (more on that later).

In 2004 Harris was convicted of three felony counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree in Hope, AR. His victim was a 16 year old female. Same age of the students he was working with at Southwest High School.

Convicted sex offender Simon Harris coaching at LR Southwest High

As a result of his conviction for a sex crime, he was placed on the sex offender registry.

In 2021, Harris tried to get removed from that list. He was unsuccessful.

That was the same year he became involved in Southwest High's softball program according to our tipster.

We sent a FOI request to LRSD for all records regarding Harris and sent information to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department about Harris's questionable involvement at the school.

We also requested records from the Hope Police Department and the Hempstead County Circuit Clerk.

We could not find Harris on the Arkansas sex offender website, but ranked as a Level 2 , he would not be on that website.

Then today we received notification that KATV had a story about Harris and his removal as a volunteer softball coach.

Let's be extremely clear, Harris was exposed by Snarky Media Group and it was our social media posts about him early Friday morning that caused LRSD to take action. We also alerted PCSO and LRSD about Harris before LRSD did.

Anyone convicted of a sex crime in Arkansas should be on that website no matter what level they are ranked. The public has a right to know.

***UPDATE 12/18/24***

According to records obatined from LRSD, convicted sexual offender Simon Harris altered a State Police document that concerned his son, Justin Harris, and put his name on it to cover up his criminal record sexual offender status that would have kept him from being involved as a coach in any school in Arkansas.

Harris altering an offical police record to hide his sexual offender status and criminal history, will no doubt result in criminal charges.

Apparently Harris was already under investigation for an incident when we exposed him as sexual offender.

Harris also is in the process of being evicted.

Stay tuned for updates.

Mark Austin Blackerby (38 and married) of Scott and Trooper Jessica Diane McCord (30 and single) of Conway during their interviews with the State Police Office of Professional Standards ("OPS") in January 2024, were dishonest about the affair according to records provided to us by the ASP. Blackerby and his wife Cassie - a Jacksonville cop Initially, the investigation focused on Blackerby and both Blackerby and McCord denied a sexual relationship even though ASP vehicle tracking systems showed their vehicles parked at secluded locations for hours at at time and his vehicle at her home in Conway multiple times when he was on the clock. Blackerby admitted that he also disabled the tracking devices in his vehicle to try and hide his movements and their hookups.  Blackerby told investigators that he is a ...

ASP Trooper Lincoln Smith fired for admitted criminal activity

The Arkansas State Police has confirmed that Trooper Lincoln Smith from Troop E (based in Pine Bluff) was fired on April 11th for illegal conduct.    False reports of his arrest went viral on social media.   As the ASP criminal investigation is on-going, they will not release any further details of his criminal actions.   As the termination letter states, Smith admitted to criminal conduct and was immediately fired.  Smith was hired by the ASP on October 2023. Smith was employed by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission as a Game Warden prior to his hiring by the ASP.   Records obtained from CLEST do not indicate that the ASP requested decertification.     Jacksonville 911 was contacted about Smith and they advised he last worked for them in 2022.   At the time of publication, Smith's Facebook page is still open and up.    Stay tuned for updates.
