Little Rock fireman Christian Burton arrested and charged with receipt and distribution of child pornography

A complaint filed in federal court accuses Christian Burton, 35, of possession of child pornography with intent to view and receipt/distribution of child pornography.

A fire department spokesperson said Wednesday that Burton was arrested at work on July 2nd. He has been placed on administrative leave without pay.

A Little Rock police detective Amber Kalmer testified at a hearing July 12th that authorities found child pornography on Burton's phone and a photo that appeared to show his penis next to a sleeping boy.

Burton wanted to be released to his mother. But Judge Jerome T. Kearney rejected that idea and ordered him held in jail for the safety of the community.

Additional court filings indicate that there might be a witness, perhaps a child as Burton asked LRPD Detective Kalmer if a child had come forward.

Burton's court appearance is set for August 23, 2021.

Little Rock pastor takes his own life after complaint of sexually explict conduct with a minor child

On April 24, 2024, Tyce Michelle Scroggins found what she has described to authorities as "inappropriate text and pictures" on her husband's cellphone. The messages were between her husband, Michael Todd Scroggins, the senior pastor at Moody Chapel AME Church in Little Rock and a minor student at LISA Academy High School. On April 25th, Mrs. Scroggins filed a report with the Little Rock Police Department about the text messages. She also notified LISA Academy administration. On April 28th, Mrs. Scroggins filed a missing person report with the Sherwood Police Department. Sherwood Police put out an alert on social media. Arkansas State Police Trooper fired

I n June 2023 a teenage female filed a compliant with the Arkansas State Police ("ASP") about Corporal Michael Valentin, an ASP Trooper stationed in Harrison, AR. In her complaint she alleged that Valentin had groomed her and had sexual activities, while on duty, with her and another minor female. She also alleged he was stalking her. An internal investigation was opened. Both teenage females were interviewed as was Valentin. The girls stated that they were acquainted with Valentine because one of them was the stepdaughter of a fellow trooper and Valentin was a frequent customer at the restaurant that the fellow trooper and his wife owned, where both of the girls worked.
