  In May of 2023, based on a complaint filed by Little Rock attorney and blogger Matt Campbell, the Arkansas Ethics Commission found that Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. violated Arkansas laws in his 2022 reelection campaign by using city resources.  The feckless mayor agreed with the findings and paid a $250 fine.     Little to no media coverage was made of the outcome of the Ethics Commisions investigation and findings in May of 2023.   And the coverage did not reveal what we found in records provided to us by the Commission.   Specifically that the Little Rock mayor won't go out in public in the safe city of Little Rock with being driving and accompanied by his LRPD security detail. And that he has no qualms about using public funds to support him. The very first day of the new year is showing how safe it is in the city of Little Rock. Three homicides occured with one being done by a LRPD cop. The first homicide occured in the early hours of New Year's day at #8 Olympia Court in SWLR at the Links at Eagle Hill apartments complex. At around 12:35 AM., LRPD cops were dispatched to a shooting call at #8 Olympia Court the Links at Eagle Hilland found two adults, male and female, suffering from gunshot wounds and a deceased juvenile male. The two adult gunshot victims were taken to a local hospital and were in stable condition. The second homicide occured at 2104 South State Street. At approximately 8:25 PM, LRPD cops were dispatched to a cutting call.   When LRPD cops arrived at the scene, they found a deceased adult female suffering from apparent knife wounds. A few minutes later, LRPD cops found a man covered in blood at Broadway Food Mart at  1624 Broadway Street, a few blocks from the homicide scene on South State Street...

Little Rock mayor Frank Scott, Jr. touts that Little Rock is a safe city and crime is down. Yet he spends around $300,000 or more on two Little Rock cops, Larry McDonald and Justin Taynor, to shuttle him to public and private appearances in a SUV rented out to LRPD.   If Little Rock is safe, why does he need LRPD chauffers and bodyguards? Sworn statements of McDonald, Taynor and Scott (along with their supervisor Lt. Dana Jackson) obtained from a state government proceeding in 2023, provide details about the mayor's fears of appearing at events in Little Rock without police protection.   McDonald told state investigators that the mayor is picked up at his house in a unmarked SUV every day that is rented by LRPD and driven to city hall or to another location where he might have a meeting.
