JUDGE ASSIGNED TO SHAE NEWMAN'S "JANE DOE" CASE AGAINST FAYETTEVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS RECUES

WASHINGTON COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE DOUG MARTIN RECUSES FROM A SECOND CASE THAT WAS ASSIGNED TO HIM WHILE ON VACATION THAT DEALS WITH FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUESTS REGARDING THE ADULTEROUS AFFAIR OF TWO FAYETTEVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYEES, FORMER SUPERINTENDENT MATTHEW WENDT AND SHAE NEWMAN, HIS ASSISTANT. As we predicted in a previous post , Judge Doug Martin recused for "judicial economy" from Shae Newman's case seeking to prevent release of records relating to the termination of Fayetteville Public School District Superintendent Matthew Wendt. Newman filed the case as "Jane Doe" to remain anonymous, even thought her attorney Suzanne Clark had released information to the press that identified her and the Fayetteville School District released records confirming her identity as "Jane Doe". NEWMAN'S STATEMENT MADE PUBLIC BY HER ATTORNEY SUZANNE CLARK  NOTIFICATION TO NEWMAN'S ATTORNEY ABOUT OUR AFOIA REQUEST We believe that Judge Tom Cooper...

JUDGE IN AFOIA CASE INVOLVING FAILURE OF FAYETTEVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS REFUSAL TO RELEASE RECORDS RELUCTANT TO MAKE RULING - TAKES MATTER UNDER ADVISEMENT

Yesterday, a special judge, a lawyer hired to represent the Fayetteville Public School district and our self-represented, non-attorney publisher all made a trip to Fayetteville for a hearing regarding our publisher's denial of rights under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act by the Fayetteville Public School ("FPS") district. The judge trekked up Hwy 71 from Ashdown and our publisher and the FPS outside council traveled separately from Little Rock for what will probably end up being a precedent setting case regarding the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act. Our publisher made a FOI request to FPS on June 19th. FPS failed to follow the statutory provisions of the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act and even after the Arkansas Attorney General issued two opinions favoring the release of the requested information, FPS refused to do so even thought they believed the documents to be public records. Under the AFOIA, the district's refusal to provide the requested public...

CANDIDATE FOR STATE SENATE CAUGHT PARKING ILLEGALLY IN A HANDICAPPED SPACE MARKED VAN ACCESSIBLE - STATE LAW DICTATES THESE SPACES ARE FOR INDIVIDUAL THAT USE MOBILITY DEVICES

YES, ARKANSAS DESERVES BETTER THAN FULTS Yesterday, our publisher made a quick trip to Home Depot in West Little Rock. He noticed a car parked in a handicapped parking space that had "Fults for Senate" magnetic signs on both driver and passenger doors.  The car, a small Hyundia sedan, did have a blue handicapped hang tag hanging on the rear view mirror, but was parked in a spot designated for vehicles that have an additional sticker on the license plate, the one that allows you to park in a van accessible handicapped parking space.  To park in a space like this, your vehicle must display the Van Accessible sticker on the license plate. This is what the sticker looks like. This one is on the vehicle of our publisher's mother, who uses a mobility device and can legally park in a space like the one the Fults' illegally parked in on Sunday morning. THE VAN ACCESSIBLE STICKER PERMITS PARKING IN A HANDICAPPED SPACE MARKED VAN ACCESSIBLE Fluts' vehicle had no such stick...
