Little Rock city attorney Tom Carpenter made racist remarks to city employees and to a member of our organization

When we started the Snarky Media Group back in 2014 and debuted our Bad City of Little Rock Blog, and our Bad Government in Arkansas Blog, we received reports that the city attorney was using racial slurs at LRPD recruit training. Sources would not go on the record and give statements fearing retaliation and loss of employment. We filed the emails and notes we had received in our KlanWatch files and moved on.

In February of 2018, when Mark Stodola was mayor, we initated action to have a traitor statue removed from city of Little Rock owned property in McArthur Park.

The idea to remove that statute was born in 2017 when Mayor Stododla  was caught telling a lie in a news report about traitor statues being removed from municipal owned property across the United States and he told the reporter we had none in Little Rock. It was our organization that took him to task and called out his lie.

You can read our story about that by clicking here.

In February of 2018, we move forward with plans for the removal of that traitor statute with Bruce Moore, the city manager at that time and Tom Carpenter, the city attorney.

Mayorial candidate Warwick Sabin was also involved.

Our Ean Lee Bordeaux, United Panther Party Chairman and publisher of Corruption Sucks Blog, held secret meetings with the city manager at the time, Bruce Moore, and city attorney Tom Carpenter about the removal of that statute.

Bruce Moore arranged for a breakfast meeting with Bordeaux and Moore at the Holiday Inn Little Rock - Presidential-Dwntn.

Carpenter was the last to arrive that morning and when he greeted Bordeaux he oddly said, "As-salamu alaykum".

Bordeaux noticed that Moore was staring directly at Carpenter like he had just stole a chicken. Caprenter blurted, "I don't know why I said that".

Bordeaux was taken aback by that greeting. While he often wears a Panther Party beret, he not a Arab or Muslim.

Bordeaux said he expected Carpenter was going to follow that up by saying, slip me some skin cat.

As we frequently point out in our #KlanWatch social media posts, racists or the klan ALWAYS outs themselves as they often blert out their racism without thinking. Apparently this is the case with Caprenter.

As we mentioned at the beginning of this story, city employees have long claimed that Carpenter makes racist comments.

This came to a head in 2022 when a female working in the city attorney's office filed a complaint about Carpenter.

The city refused to release all records at that and still does.

And another complaint was filed in 2023 about Carpenter's mistreatment and racism towards Black female employees.

According to our sources inside LR City Hall, Mayor Scott has tried several times to fire Carpenter. He has not been able to get support of City Directors to do that.

Carpenter has cost the city a lot of money over his poor performance as an attorney.

Judges have blasted Carpenter and fined him.

The Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney went after him about Freedom of Information Act violations.

The Little Rock city attorney has a personal vendetta against our organization as we are the only media organization that consistently holds his office accountable and exposed misdeeds.

We have championed transparancey time and time again in legal actions that have caused stafff turnovers in the FOI coordinator positions.

We are not going anywhere.

###

Last week we received a tip about Carpenter's residence and issues with it in his neighborhood.

Carpenter and his wife purchased their home in 1997 and apparently after 2016, just quit maintaining the yard. That is apparent from records available on the Pulaski County Assessor's website and Google Earth. It's become an urban jungle.

You can imagine what his neighbor's think. No doubt they will be glad when he sells it and moves.

Carpenter is also big into Boy Scouts and is a Methodist. We won't touch any of that.

Arkansas State Police Troopers fired for illicit sexual relationship

Two Arkansas State Police Troopers were fired on April 5, 2024 after administrative investigations were conducted into accusations that they were romantically involved. Sgt. Mark Austin Blackerby (38 and married) of Scott and Trooper Jessica Diane McCord (30 and single) of Conway during their interviews with the State Police Office of Professional Standards ("OPS") in January 2024, were dishonest about the affair according to records provided to us by the ASP. Blackerby and his wife Cassie - a Jacksonville cop Initially, the investigation focused on Blackerby and both Blackerby and McCord denied a sexual relationship even though ASP vehicle tracking systems showed their vehicles parked at secluded locations for hours at at time and his vehicle at her home in Conway multiple times when he was on the clock. Blackerby admitted that he also disabled the tracking devices in his vehicle to try and hide his movements and their hookups.  Blackerby told investigators that he is a ...

ASP Trooper Lincoln Smith fired for admitted criminal activity

The Arkansas State Police has confirmed that Trooper Lincoln Smith from Troop E (based in Pine Bluff) was fired on April 11th for illegal conduct.    False reports of his arrest went viral on social media.   As the ASP criminal investigation is on-going, they will not release any further details of his criminal actions.   As the termination letter states, Smith admitted to criminal conduct and was immediately fired.  Smith was hired by the ASP on October 2023. Smith was employed by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission as a Game Warden prior to his hiring by the ASP.   Records obtained from CLEST do not indicate that the ASP requested decertification.     Jacksonville 911 was contacted about Smith and they advised he last worked for them in 2022.   At the time of publication, Smith's Facebook page is still open and up.    Stay tuned for updates.
