LRPD fuck-up cop Jesse David Garcia-Hurtado |
Records obtained from the Benton Police Department reveal that Jesse Hurtado was fired on January 23, 2023 for serious violations of the Benton Police Department Standards of Conduct.
Those records also show that in May 2016, Hurtado submitted an application and then Sgt. Brian Bigelow with Benton PD had questions about his being hired due to multiple issues with truthfulness concerning his employment application and criminal history.

Lt. Brian Bigelow Benton Police Department |
Bigelow found that Hurtado failed to report six years of convictions of traffic violations that included a warrant/arrest for failure to appear and suspension of his drivers license for over a year.
Hurtado was disqualified from emplyment (at that time) due to his lack of truthfulness.
Hurtado then went to work as a electrician then as a prison guard witht the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Hurtado reapplied to Benton PD in June of 2021 and was hired in spite of his previous lack of truthfulness in 2016.
The incident that led to his termination from Benton PD took place in November 2022.
Hurtado was involved in an illegal search of a vehicle and lying about having obtained consent from the owner of the vehicle to search it.
A fellow Benton cop, Kaitlyn Fleetwood, brought up concerns about an arrest made by Hurtado.
Fleetwood told superiors that she had arrived first on the scene to a call about an unconscious person in a vehicle. While she was dealing with the man, Hurtado arrived and conducted a search of his vehicle. Fleetwood asked Hurtado why he had searched the vehicle and Hurtado told her the man had given him consent.
A review of video footage was made and the investigating officer found nothing to indicate that the man had been detained or placed under arrest prior to Hurtado's search of his vehicle. It was determined that Hurtado was untruthful about the man givining consent and had conducted an illegal search of the vehicle.
An administrative hearing was held and it was determined that Hurtado violated standards of conduct - untruthfulness or lying - and was fired.
Issues with a cop and a lack of truthfulness usually end that cops law enforcement career.
Not in Little Rock. The Scott Administration Police Department has around 75 cops on the job that are on their own liars list.
Here's a link to the list that LRPD provided us: tinyurl.com/LRPDBradyCops
Hurtado went to work for LRPD in or around April of 2023. We based that on his first court case as a LRPD cop where he apparently was involved in the service of a warrant/arrest on August 31, 2023.
We requested his personnel file from the city of Little Rock after he ran his LRPD patrol vehicle into a light pole at the LRPD 12th Street Substation on December 26, 2024. At the time of publication, it had not yet been received.
Here's the video of Hurtado's crash.
Apparently Benton PD did not seek decertification of Hurtado's law enforcement certification. THey should have based on his untruthfulness.
Why the Scott Administration LRPD would want to hire a fuck-up like Hurtado is a question that we won't get answered.
Hurtado crashes a vehicle under questionable circumstances and is not placed on administrative leave. Six days later he shoots and kills a man, giving us the third homicide of the year for the safe city of Little Rock. tinyurl.com/LRHomicides25
Hurtado claimed that he and LRPD cop Zachary Nelson were chased by man covered in blood and in possession of a knife.
LRPD will not release or post body camera footage of the incident claiming it's an "open investigation".
Stay tuned for updates.

***UPDATE 01/13/25***
The city of Little Rock finally complied with our FOI request for a copy of Hurtado's personnel file.
Hurtado had tell the truth this time on an employment application because his termination for lying by Benton PD would be on his CLEST (Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training) information LRPD would recieve.
No records were provided that show that the city Human Resources Department obatined details from Benton PD about the "policy violation".
Why should citizens of Little Rock be subjected to having another liar carrying a gun in the safe city of Little Rock?
Untruthful individuals have no place in any law enforcement organization.
LRPD has a shitload.
All of these liars need to be fired and free up positions and funds for credible cops.
