Stephanie Almand, a former Pulaski County Special School District teacher, is now a convicted felon and sex offender
Pulaski County Circuit Court Judge Leon Johnson presided over a bench trial today, after many delays, and found that former Maumelle High School teacher Stephanie Renee Almand had committed a Class D Felony - Sexual Assault 3rd, by having a sexual relationship with a student back in 2021.

At today's trial, the prosecuting attorney moved to drop one count filed against Almand and modify another (from a Class A Felony to a Class D Felony).
No doubt this was the result of a plea deal to keep Almand out of prison.
Almand was sentenced to six years of probation, fined $1,500, and required to register as a sex offender.
A no contact order was also issued to keep her away from her victim.
Almand also asked the court to allow her to have her minor son be able to see, spend time with and stay at her residence. Her guilty plea to the serious felony sexual assault offense requires a judge to make a specific finding that she poses no danger to the child.
Almand is also involved in a custody battle with the father of the child.
Sources report the child has been staying with grandparents.
