Maumelle High School teacher Stephanie Almand facing charges for sexual relationship with student

 Russ Racop - May 10, 2021

Last Friday, May 7th,  mainstream media outlets reported about a 28 year old female teacher at Maumelle High school at was reportedly involved in an illegal sexual relationship with a male student under the age of 18. None of these media outlets would name the teacher.

Why these main stream news outlets lacked the courage to name the teacher is a question you will have to ask them.

The allegations made against her and her name is public information (and are public records) and we have the courage and the obligation to post those them.

This is not the first time a teacher at Maumelle High School has been caught having sex with a student.

That teacher caught a five year prison sentence.

We were the first media outlet to name her and did so in our Weekly Update yesterday.

We obtained the Maumelle Police Department Incident Report regarding the sex crime.

The alleged sex crime is reported to have occurred at Almand's residence in Little Rock.

Almand had a child out-of-wedlock in 2018.

Almand was represented in the paternity suit by her father, William Gregg Almand.

We suspect that based on these allegations, the child's father has a very good chance of obtaining custody.

Observant readers will have noticed that in the police report her victim mentioned Almand having left a teaching job in Texas due to a similar allegations there.

We have requested records from the Texas Education Agency and Texas law enforcement agencies.

Stay tuned for updates.

UPDATE: 5/10/21 6:00PM

We have received several messages that suggest we FOI records from eStem.  The reports are that there were constant rumors about her doing the same thing there.

UPDATE: 5/11/21 4:00PM

According to records reluctantly released by PCSSD, the accused sex criminal Almand only has a provisional teaching license.

PCSSD omitted her application for employment and we made a second request for that record as well as any complaints filed against her.

UPDATE: 5/13/21 12:36PM

PCSSD gave up Almand's application for employment without much of a tussle.

UPDATE: 5/17/21 10:34AM

eStem after initially refusing to take a verbal FOI request, decided to avoid a court hearing over AFOIA Denial of Rights, provided Almand's records.

A former co-worker at eStem sent us this message about Almand.

UPDATE: 5/19/21 11:42AM

Looks like she is downsizing and preparing for some jail time.

ASP Trooper Lincoln Smith fired for admitted criminal activity

The Arkansas State Police has confirmed that Trooper Lincoln Smith from Troop E (based in Pine Bluff) was fired on April 11th for illegal conduct.    False reports of his arrest went viral on social media.   As the ASP criminal investigation is on-going, they will not release any further details of his criminal actions.   As the termination letter states, Smith admitted to criminal conduct and was immediately fired.  Smith was hired by the ASP on October 2023. Smith was employed by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission as a Game Warden prior to his hiring by the ASP.   Records obtained from CLEST do not indicate that the ASP requested decertification.     Jacksonville 911 was contacted about Smith and they advised he last worked for them in 2022.   At the time of publication, Smith's Facebook page is still open and up.    Stay tuned for updates.
