Eric Caffey's mugshot Back on October 9th we broke the story that an England, AR cop (and school resource officer) Eric Jason Caffery (a/k/a Eric Rufus) was under investigation in concerning allegations that he made false claims that he had cancer and had received several thousand dollars students and community members had raised to help him fight the disease. Shortly after we reported that, we were contacted by criminal defense attorney Bill James and threatened with legal action. Retaining a lawyer that has an exclusive criminal defense practice is not a good sign. Our research into Caffey revealed that he and his wife had failed to pay state and federal income taxes for several years and that liens had been filed against them as well as lawsuits and judgments obtained by creditors.
