LRSD Hall High School principal was suspended for event where fight with gun errupted. Released records also make reference to a Crimes Against Children investigation

Carlton McGhee - Hall High principal

On August 3, 2024, a non-district basketball tournment took place at Hall High school.

A fight broke out and a juvenile had a handgun and used it to strike several individuals.

Turns out McGhee did not follow established LRSD policies about use of district facilities.

McGhee caught a five day suspenion without pay.

Then in December, a complant was made to LRSD about a volunteer softball coach at Southwest High School having innapropriate conact with a student.

Unbeknownst to LRSD, the SWHS coach was a convicted sex offender.

Records we obtained from LRSD about the sex offender volunteer coach at Southwest High, contained emails between Jordan Eason, LRSD Human Resources Director of Employee Relations and Aaron Gossett, and investigator with the Arkansas State Police, Crimes Against Children unit.

That emails made reference to a previous investigation the ASP CAC unit had conducted concerning McGhee.

We requested a copy of McGee's personnel file back in December when we saw these emails when preparing our story about the sex offender SWHS coach.

We found no records to reflect any administrative leave in McGee's file in that timeframe.

The public has a right to know if school district employees are accused of criminal actions and are being investigated by a law enforcement agency.

The Little Rock School District employs some sketchy individuals and their lack of acountablility is incredible.

LRSD provided some additional records regarding McGhee.

One of the documents provides details about the child maltreatment investigation.

The parent of a Hall High student, who also happens to be a LRSD Security Officer, filed a complaint about McGhee inappropriately touching her daughter and making her uncomfortable during a search for weed.

Other records provided show that he was in fact placed on administrative leave during the investigation and that he received a Letter of Caution.

Arkansas State Police Trooper fired

I n June 2023 a teenage female filed a compliant with the Arkansas State Police ("ASP") about Corporal Michael Valentin, an ASP Trooper stationed in Harrison, AR. In her complaint she alleged that Valentin had groomed her and had sexual activities, while on duty, with her and another minor female. She also alleged he was stalking her. An internal investigation was opened. Both teenage females were interviewed as was Valentin. The girls stated that they were acquainted with Valentine because one of them was the stepdaughter of a fellow trooper and Valentin was a frequent customer at the restaurant that the fellow trooper and his wife owned, where both of the girls worked. Arkansas State Police Troopers fired for illicit sexual relationship

Two Arkansas State Police Troopers were fired on April 5, 2024 after administrative investigations were conducted into accusations that they were romantically involved. Sgt. Mark Austin Blackerby (38 and married) of Scott and Trooper Jessica Diane McCord (30 and single) of Conway during their interviews with the State Police Office of Professional Standards ("OPS") in January 2024, were dishonest about the affair according to records provided to us by the ASP. The feckless Little Rock mayor made this post of Facebook yesterday. So this morning we went to the County Clerk's website and grabbed a copy of his marriage license application. We immediately noticed that both Scott and his bride to be listed the same residence address - 8101 Kanis Oaks Drive. Scott's residence on his voter records is on Edwina Drive in Southwest Little Rock. Scott's bride-to-be is registered to vote in Florida. More about her later on in the story.
