Evidence of corruption forces resignation of two Pulaski County officials

Evidence we uncovered that proved Pulaski County Community Services Director and Arkansas State Senator Fred Love and Pulaski County Deputy Attorney Veletta Smith conspired to arrange fraudulent circumstances to create an emergency to allow Smith's son to obtain a voucher from Love's agency to rent a home that Smith owned. Smith in turn received funds from that arrangement. Records revealed that Smith utilized county resources for personal and financial benefit.

All of the circumstances surrounding the implosion of the Pulaski County Housing Agency have been detailed in two previous stories:

According to Madeline Roberts, the county’s communications director, Smith tendered her resignation on August 8th.

That's the day after our Russ Racop sent an email to County Judge Hyde and others detailing Smith's illegal activities.

Then Racop sent this email to Judge Hyde, Love and all the Quorum Court members.

Love tendered his resignation the very next day, i.e., today.

According to the Pulaski County mouthpiece Roberts, County Judge Barry Hyde did not ask Smith or Love to resign and that their resignations does not indicate they were involved in any alleged fraud.

Right.

Our next action is to seek removal of Hyde and Love from public office.

Meanwhile, 35 individuals that were victimized by Love and his staff have had vouchers terminated and are about to become homeless.

That is our next story.

Was ASP Trooper Billy Martin trying to pull all 3 sisters?   In January 2019, Callie Hinson and Joseph Ramer began dating. On June 13, 2020, Joseph proposed to Callie.  They were married on February 21, 2021. Martin joined the ASP as a recruit in January of 2007. Records from his personnel file indicate he was from Boone County and he was posted there after graduating troop school.   Martin was promoted to Trooper First Class in July 2011 and Corporal in July 2014. In late 2019 and early 2020, Martin tried to get transferred to a Criminal Investigation position in Boone County but was unsuccessful.
