ARKANSAS STATE POLICE CAPTAIN ARRESTED UNDER SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES IN FORT SMITH PARK

Arkansas State Police Captain Steven Bryan Davis of Troop H in Fort Smith was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

The arrest location was listed as 2500 Riverfront Drive, which is where Highway 255 crosses a trail in a wooded area near the Arkansas River.

 



In the report released Thursday, an undercover officer reports Capt. Davis appeared to be masturbating in his truck near Fort Smith Park.

When the officer and another undercover officer confronted him, they say Davis said he wanted to watch the two undercover officers perform sex acts in the back of his truck, according to the report.

The undercover officers then identified themselves and handcuffed Capt. Davis, the report says.

Davis was booked into the Sebastian County jail at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday,  on a misdemeanor loitering charge.

Davis was released on a $200 bond.

Captain Davis was placed on paid administrative leave, according to an Arkansas State Police spokesperson.

The park is a frequent target of undercover Fort Smith police officers that catch individuals seeking or performing sexual activity.

The park is commonly referred to as "Pickle Park" for that very reason.

Arkansas State Police Troopers fired for illicit sexual relationship

  Two Arkansas State Police Troopers were fired on April 5, 2024 after administrative investigations were conducted into accusations that they were romantically involved. Sgt. Fired Dover City Marshal Nathan Jones Accused of Exploiting Dying Man to Take Control of His Estate

  A video of a part-time Dover, AR city marshal threatening a local business that went viral on social media, resulted in his termination of employment on October 1st.   Here's the video. Apparently Jones was the subject of rumors in the town.
