GILBERT RAY BAKER, UCA ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MUSIC, FORMER STATE SENATOR Former state Senator Gilbert Baker (59) and future federal inmate was arrested by C onway police at 4:25 a.m. Saturday Au gust 27th. Baker was charged with violation of the Omnibus DWI Act, refusal of a blood alcohol test, and driving left of the center lane. Gilbert Baker is a former member of the Arkansas State Senate from District 30. He served in the Arkansas Senate from 2001 to 2013. In 2010, Baker was an unsuccessful candidate for the United States Senate seat formerly held by the Democrat Blanche Lincoln. Baker resigned from his position as a lobbyist for UCA after being involved with funneling funds to Judge Mike Maggio through PACs.   Baker is currently empl oyed as an A ssistant P rof essor of M usi c at UCA.   Baker was strongly against the ABC issuing permits to C onway restaurants to serve alcoholic beverages.   The Arkansas Department of Corrections placed inmate Kevin Domerese in the White County jail under their Act 309 program back in 2015. And two female jailers rewarded Domerese with sex and cell phones, complete with nude photos of themselves, for his "good behavior". That got them charged this week with Sexual Assault in the 3rd degree, a Class C Felony, and the ADC prisoner moved back to a ADC facility. ANGELA MARIE JACOBS and KIERA ANN VIGER According to documents filed in the criminal cases against the pair of now former jailers, Jacobs began a sexual relationship with Domerese in October 2015 and it continued through January 2016. Viger began her sexual relationship with him in March 2016 and it continued through May 2016. The pair had given D omerese cell phones and they sent him nude p hotos of themselves .
