Thanks to a tipster, we were able to obtain public records that expose Arkansas State Police Trooper Michael Austin Kennedy as a racist.
Records filed in the divorce proceedings Kennedy's wife has filed give shocking information what Trooper Kennedy thinks about People of Color.
In amended filings, Trooper Kennedy's estranged wife states that he is a white supremacist and fears for the safety of their children.
And it's no surprise that Trooper Kennedy is a registered Republican.
Have the racist views expressed by Trooper Kennedy influenced his actions as a law enforcement officer?
We sent the court filing to the ASP and asked for comments and also made a FOI request for Kennedy's personnel file.
They responded and advised that he was been placed on administrative leave.
Trooper Michael Austin Kennedy is the son of ASP Lt. Colonel Mike Kennedy. Like father like son?
Mike Hagar needs to take swift action and terminate the employment of Trooper Kennedy for the safety of all citizens of the state.

***UPDATE - 5/19/26***
The racist Trooper resigned shortly after we posted this story. No doubt our breaking story and details of his hate for People of Color sent him into a tailspin.
As the racist trooper resigned while he was under an internal investigation, he will be decertified and lose his ability to get a job in law enforcement.
As we previously mentioned, the racist trooper was a Bryant Arkansas cop before he joined the ASP.
As you can see in his personnel file, the racist Bryant Chief of Police took every opportunity to pat him on the back and sent letters to the ASP lavishing praise on him. The klan takes care of it's own.

***UPDATE - 05/21/26***
An email exchange between attorneys, filed as an exhibit in the divorce case, discussed the news media coverage of the racist text messages sent by the former ASP trooper. Apparently they didn't know that we broke the story on May 15th at 10:12 AM and that the Arkansas Democrat Gazette published their story later that same day at 6:33 PM and updated it at 10:00 PM. We told folks how we found out - a non-anonymous tipster that asked us to not identifiy them - that has no connection to either side as far as we can determine.
The newspaper reported that the trooper resigned but they did not tell you that he resigned an hour after we broke the story and exposed him.
We initially contacted the ASP for comments about the racist text messages on May 5th at 7:44 AM. That email put things in motion at the ASP.
Two hours later the ASP told us that Kennedy had been placed on leave and an internal investigation has been initiated and we published our breaking story 12 minutes later.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette often follows up on our breaking stories and sometimes credits our journalistic efforts.
