Joey Williams, a Hot Springs cop, was arrested for domestic battery after his wife sustained a perforated eardrum from a blow to her head.
Joey Thomas Williams was arrested and charged with domestic battering in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor, and was booked into the Garland County Detention Center around 12:03 AM this morning.
Williams and his wife, Julie, were arguing over laundry and they shoved each other. Julie then slapped her husband and he slapped his wife back, causing a loss of hearing in her left ear. Julie went to the emergency room at a nearby hospital and it was determined that the blow to her head by her husband had perforated her left ear drum.
Williams was released on a $2500 bail bond after appearing in court at 8:30 AM.
Initially the Garland County Sheriff's Office refused to provide William's booking records to us claiming there was an on-going open investigation by the Hot Springs Police Department.
After a few hours, John Howard, the Garland County Attorney intervened and made sure we received the records.
We requested a comment and records from the Hot Springs Police Department but they had not responded at the time of publication.
Stay tuned for updates.
