Earl, AR mayor being investigated by Arkansas State Police for his relationship with a 15 year old boy
FBI provided information to the ASP about messages between Smith and a 15 yr old According the Arkansas State Police, they received a tip from the FBI that Jalen Smith, the mayor of Earle, AR for his "inappropriate" relationship with a 15 year old boy. Credible sources in Earl city government provided us with information about a mother of a 15 year old boy finding alarming Snapchat messages between her son and Jalen Smith, the sketchy mayor of Earl. We first reached out the the Crittenden County Sheriff's Office and an individual in their Criminal Investigation Division told us to contact the ASP. We made a phone call to the ASP for records about the complaint and the ASP provided this response. On-going criminal investigation records are exempt for AFOIA requests and the ASP provided what information they could under the AFOIA.
