SCHOOL FOUNDER & FORMER HEAD VALERIE TATUM IS REPORTED TO HAVE STOLEN $188K According to a report filed February 13th by Phong Tran, the superintendent of the now shuttered Covenant Keepers charter school, school founder and former superintendent Valerie Tatum made $188, 905.93 in unauthorized transactions from the school's checking account. The full police report can be viewed by clicking here . The Arkansas Department of Education revoked the schools charter in an emergency meeting on February 15th, after learning of Tatum's theft. The school was left with $15,000 in its operating account, not quite enough for a payroll that was due on the 15th due and well short of another $44,000 owed this week for payroll, teacher retirement, food service and other costs, according to a story on the Arkansas Blog by Max Brantley. When both Ward 2 Director Ken Richardson and Ward 1 Director Erma Hendrix , both black, missed some board meetings folks were screaming they needed to be replaced. At-large Director Joan Adcock has missed all of the meetings of the board in the new year and not one individual has raised an eyebrow or suggest she be replaced. Chew on that.

The Arkansas Ethics Commission has found that Circuit Judge Susan Weaver violated the law by failing to note that her campaign paid for an ad in the Faulkner County Lifestyle magazine in May 2018.   However, the Commission declined to sanction Weaver based on good cause. Weaver and Lori Quinn, a co-owner of the magazine, testified that the campaign asked in an email for the magazine to correct the ad before publication to specify who paid for it, but the magazine didn't do so.  LORI QUINN   Quinn, testified that she agreed with the affidavit of Brandy Strain-Dayer, the other co-owner. "This particular ad was sent to proof and we missed an email they replied it was not correct and we just missed it," Quinn said. ACTING LRPD CoP HAYWARD FINKS - TOO DUMB TO BE CHIEF? We obtained all the applications for the open LRPD Chief of Police Position. We found that three active LRPD officers have applied for the position, Assistant Chief's Alice Fulk and Hayward Finks along with patrolman Ethan Williams. Finks was hired by LRPD in 1988 and Fulk in 1992 . Williams was first hired in 2005 and he quit in 2013 to attend college; he rejoined in 2017. ALICE FULK ETHAN WILLIAMS In Finks' application packet there is a letter in which he makes reference that he had attached a resume. Fink's resume was not included in the response the city provided to our FOI request. So we attempted to obtain a copy of Fink's missing resume. We were not successful. We noticed and odd coincidence in the files we obtained. Take a look at Finks' letter again. The white majority Little Rock Board of Directors voted Tuesday night in an executive session to recycle Ward 7 director B.J. Wyrick to be Vice Mayor in order to keep Ken Richardson from getting the position. Wyrick was Vice Mayor from January 2000 until December 2001. The board has a tradition that a member with tenure that has not held the position of Vice Mayor is usually the one to be selected.  Neither Ken Richardson or Erma Hendrix have ever held that position. Both are black. Capi Peck, who is white, is the newest member of the board has never held that position either. This is a racist board, as Director Hendrix is fond of saying, and you can do some research and you will find that no proposed ordinance put forth by Hendrix or Richardson has ever gotten enough votes to pass. That is institutional racism and those old decrepit white directors, and Doris Wright (who most always votes with the whites) cannot offer any other explanation than institutional racism.
